The Church of the Transfiguration serves a diverse congregation made up of year round residents, part-time residents, and visitors to the area.  In this Holy place, we come together to nurture and support each other on our spiritual journeys. Together we find empowerment for our ministries.  Won't you join us?

Our mission as the Church of the Transfiguration is to acknowledge Jesus Christ as revealed to us in the Scriptures through worship, prayer, and study, and to proclaim the Good News joyfully in a ministry of servanthood.

Diapers for Haiti Cover your Tushy party March 7
Parish Hall.  Bring scissors, sewing machines, etc.

The TCW Diapers for Haiti project is going on now.  We are preparing Diaper Kits going with Sisters of Mercy missionaries.  They are leaving March 29 on a week long medical mission to Haiti and will transport and deliver diaper kits directly to those in need.  Each "kit" will contain two diaper covers, 8-10 wipes, 10-12 absorbers/flats, and 2-4 diaper pins.  These are ready-to-go kits that will serve babies birth-3yrs old.

There are many ways to participate.  You can purchase items, donate items, sew items, donate money, and assemble kits.  We will be collecting items and monetary donations now thru March 7.  There are examples, shopping lists for already made items, or sew-your-own items, a donation box, and more information in the parish hall.  Any soft/cotton material can be used for the wipes,  Examples are new or used sheets, blankets, t-shirts, etc.

We currently have two sewing machines available for the Cover Your Tushy Party.  We would like to have 2 more.  If you are willing to share your machine that day, please let us know.

Click the following link for a video for the pattern we will be using.  We have the patterns for all sizes, and we can get these to you on tracing paper if you want to sew at home.   Diapers for Haiti Video Link

Message from Fr. Wes

I hope that you all will invite your friends and family to take part in these dinners. For those of you who are new to the church or to your faith, this will be great time to learn about the church and the Bible. A big thank you to Tom Phillips in advance for being willing to share his knowledge with us.  Our topics are as follows:

February 25th-  Biblical Cannon. If you don't know what that means, then definitely plan to come. I will be presenting a lecture on how the Bible as we know it came to be. Who wrote it  and when ? Who decided what got in and what was left out? Some of the students and faculty from the Emmaus Bible School plan to join us for this class as well.

March 4th- Tom Phillips will present the first half of an overview of the Old Testament. This will give you the big picture of the book as a whole. What are its major components how does it shape our overhaul understanding of the faith.

March 11th- Tom will do the second half of the Old Testament overview

March 18th- Tom will do the New Testament overview. Same idea just focused on the New Testament.

March 25th- Why do we do what we do on Sunday Morning. For those of you who are new to the church, this is definitely one you will want to attend. I will explain why we say what we say, what are some of the items in the sanctuary, and how does it all fit together as worship?
