The Second Annual Art and Bake Sale on December 3
This event was held by the Transfiguration Church Women to support their outreach ministries.

The Second Annual Art and Bake Sale was a great success.  The children made candles, angels, and bird seed ornaments to sell.
Artists offered a variety of great Christmas gifts, and the baked goods were delicious.

The M&M (Mature and Motivated) Group enjoyed the October Boat Tie-Up

31 post partum and 33 diaper kits were assembled at the Bare Necessities October 5 Workday. They were  dropped at Agape Air in Venice, FL the next day, and will soon be on their way to Children of the Promise in Haiti.

Involving the children in Church activities is important to us and celebrating their accomplishments brings us great joy!
Emma, who discovered sewing by working with the Bare Necessities Group, took sewing lessons from a parishioner and then entered her change purse in the 6-8 year old Sewn Accessories competition at the Mountain State Fair. She won First Place and Best in Show.  Congratulations Emma!

The Transfiguration Church Women (TCW) became Project Linus Blanketeers at their September meeting. Project Linus, a national non-profit organization, donates handmade blankets to children in crisis.  The blankets are distributed in Western NC.

It was a beautiful September day to welcome the newest member of our Church Family at our Lake Lure Beach Sunday service.

After the service, the congregation stayed for a delicious pot luck lunch.

Removal of a large tree on the Church property will mean firewood for someone in need this winter.
The Firewood Ministry meets every Monday.

Delivering the diaper and feminine hygiene kits to the Sisters of Mercy for their trip to Haiti.

Bare Necessities Group meets once a month to cut, sew, and assemble feminine hygiene and diaper kits.  These kits are distributed locally and around the world. This workday finished up 35 diaper kits and 47 feminine hygiene kits that will be taken to Haiti by the Sisters of Mercy on August 21.   If you would like to be involved with this very important and exciting ministry, contact Laura or Amy.  Just click on the name!

They said it was going to rain on the Boat Tie-up day, and it did.  But the M&M (Mature and Motivated) is
a tough bunch and they were not to be deterred!

This was the third try to schedule on a day without rain, and it rained! But they were brave!

The rain moved on, the sun came out.  We made new friends.

Great snacks, much laughter and we learned all about Lake Lure. Thanks Chuck!
