The Church of the Transfiguration serves a diverse congregation made up of year round residents, part-time residents, and visitors to the area.  In this Holy place, we come together to nurture and support each other on our spiritual journeys. Together we find empowerment for our ministries.  Won't you join us?

Year in Review 2015

        

Christmas Eve.  Henry carries the Baby Jesus to the altar and placed in the Nativity Scene.

  The TCW (Transfiguration Church Women) Christmas Luncheon

              
            
The First Annual Art and Bake Sale sponsored by the Transfiguration Church Women on Dec. 5 featured seven artists from the Church.  The Children made ornaments and candle decorations, many contributed baked goods.  Proceeds go to sponsor children in our sister diocese in Durgapur, India and to benefit other outreach ministries. Bare Necessities has been busy!  Four newborn baby kits have been given to families in the area.  Eight diaper kits have been delivered and sent home with Hickory Nut Gorge Outreach clients.   We sent about 100 flat diapers to Guatemala via the Diapers for Haiti organization.  We delivered 15 diaper kits and 15 feminine hygiene kits to the Sister of Mercy medical missionary team.  This group meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 3 -7.   Laura Shields along with her children Cody and Tucker make another Bare Necessities Delivery.

The Spiritual Garden makes our walk from the Church to the Parish Hall such a treat.  Thanks to these hard working TCW ladies!

The Bare Necessities Group meets on the First Wednesday of each month to sew and package supplies to send to those in need. 
Cloth diaper kits recently went to Nicaragua.  This groups also makes Feminine Hygiene kits and Newborn welcome kits.

The Transfiguration Church Women (ECW) made their annual trip to Strawberry Hill on May 12. 

On May 3, the congregation gathered at the beach at Lake Lure for a Baptism and Eucharist.

The Church Women are off and running on another great project to send feminine hygiene supplies to girls in Thailand.
Eighteen volunteers completed 45 kits that will be sent with Church members to Thailand.

 The children surprised Fr. Wes with a one year anniversary gift.   

  

The TCW and lots of helpers sewed and assembled 75 diaper kits to go to Haiti.

Tom  Phillips, Church member and director of Emmaus Bible School,  presented "How the Bible as we know it came to be."
This was the second program in our Lenten Series.  The food is amazing!  Hope you can join us for the rest of the series.
