Church of the Transfiguration Bat Cave
Special thanks to Blaine Cox for
so many great photographs!
The Church of the Transfiguration serves a
diverse congregation made up of year round residents, part-time
residents, and visitors to the area. In this Holy place, we
come together to nurture and support each other on our spiritual
journeys. Together we find empowerment for our ministries.
Won't you join
mission as the Church of the Transfiguration is to acknowledge Jesus
Christ as revealed to us in the Scriptures through worship, prayer,
and study, and to proclaim the Good News joyfully in a ministry of servanthood.
The Church of the
Transfiguration has called a new Rector
On Feb. 15, 2014, we call Rev. John Wesley (Wes) Shields
|We have been blessed to have had Fr. Mark
Butler as our Interim Priest since September
2012. He has given so much of himself to
our Church, giving willingly of his time and
going way beyond what was expected. He has
led us spiritually, cared for us personally, and
taught us through Bible and book studies. He has
served as a mentor and friend to many in our
parish. As a congregation, we have become
endeared to him , and he to us. However,
we knew the time would come to say farewell. It
will be hard to say goodbye. Fr. Mark's
last celebration of the Eucharist with us will
be March 16.
Fr. Shields' first day at The Church of the
Transfiguration will be Monday, April 7 and he
will celebrate his first Eucharist with on Palm
Sunday, April 13. Wes and his wife, Laura,
and their three children Emma, Cody, and Tucker
will reside in the Rectory with their 2 dogs and
a cat. We welcome them to our Church
Family, and look forward to this next chapter in
the life of our Church.
