Ministries
There are many ways to be involved at Transfiguration. Consider becoming part of one of our Outreach Ministries: Counseling Support, Community Laundry, Bare Necessities Team, Firewood Team, Prayer Shawls, or Caring Friends. Or help with services on Sundays.
Counseling support from Jean Rowe, a licensed therapist. No charge for residents of the Hickory Nut Gorge area.
Community laundry facility located in the Saylor House. Free, clean and always open to residents of the Hickory Nut Gorge.
Our Bare Necessities Team makes reusable diapers and feminine hygiene kits that we send around the world.
The Firewood Team provides wood to members of our community who are, because of physical challenges or struggling financially, unable to acquire the firewood necessary to heat their homes.
Prayer Shawls are quilted, crocheted or knitted and given to those who may be going through a difficult time or celebrating something special.
Caring Friends provides meals to parishioners and currently to the Bat Cave Disaster Relief Team. They also offer rides, respite and send cards and reach out with phone calls.
Children's Sunday School / Christian Formation is an opportunity to be part of our Sunday School Team.
There are ways to help with services: Altar Guild, Ushers, Lectors, Chalice Bearers, Sing in the Choir, and social gatherings where we enjoy fellowship, laughter, and grow a little closer to each other and God.
Maybe there is a ministry that we do not have that you would like to be a part of? Be Creative! Look at the ministries we normally would offer and think of new ones you might be willing to start.
We enjoy being together for fellowship, meals, study, and laughter. Won't you join us?
