Helping with our Services

We welcome newcomers to our Church Family.  There are many opportunities for outreach and service in our Parish.  If you are interested in becoming more involved, please speak to a member of our Vestry, or the contact person named.  Our needs for volunteers change as we continue to grow and add programs, so please ask.  The list that follows may not include everything!

Sunday School and Nursery
Children's Sunday School and a Nursery are offered during the 10 a.m. service on Sunday.  For more information, visit the
Children's Ministry  page.

Cleaning the Church and other Special Projects
Volunteers keep our Church building and Parish Hall looking great.  Some tasks are weekly:  vacuuming, cleaning restrooms and keeping the Parish Hall floors swept.  Others are periodic: polishing the pews, getting into those pesky corners under the pews, cleaning windows, and other deep cleaning jobs.  If you are able to help with any of these tasks, contact Carlann Scherping.

Join the Choir
You don't have to be a great singer, just willing to share your voice as we celebrate our love for Christ. The choir practices on Sundays at 9:15 a.m. For more information contact
JoAnne Ellingson.

Altar Guild
Prior to each service, the altar is set up.  Members of the altar guild work in teams and rotate weeks.  There are also things that can be done at home such as laundering and ironing the linens.  If you are interested in this ministry, you will receive plenty of training and help.  If interested, please see Marily Floyd.

Lectors
Lectors are the ones who read the Prayers and the Scriptures during the service.  We divide the readings between two Lectors at the 10:00 service.   Lectors are scheduled on a rotating basis.

Acolytes and Chalice Bearers
These people serve at the altar with the Priest.  Adult acolytes are also Chalice Bearers.  There will be a training for our young people when there is an interest.

Ushers and greeters serve on a rotating basis.  The ushers hand out the bulletins, welcome people to the Church, record the sermons, bring the Elements to the altar, and collect the offering.   See Alice Garrard if you are interested in helping with this ministry.
