The Church of the Transfiguration serves a diverse congregation made up of year round residents, part-time residents, and visitors to the area. In this holy place, we come together to nurture and support each other on our spiritual journeys. Together we find empowerment for our ministries. Won't you join us?
If you are looking for a Church Family or ways to be involved in community outreach, Transfiguration invites you to come worship with us on Sunday or join us in one of our many outreach ministries: Backyard Sports, Bare Necessities, M&M, Firewood Ministry , or Caring Friends.
We are currently in a period of transition and a search for our next Rector. We said farewell to The Rev. Anne Bridgers on January 29. She had been our interim rector for the past 18 months. We prayerfully await our next full time Priest. Meanwhile we will be welcoming several supply priests - some new friends and some old friends.
As we face this time of change, we are ever mindful that we are not alone. God has walked beside our parish since 1897 when the Sisters first arrived in the Hickory Nut Gorge and began the work that we continue today. Please join us as we make this journey together.
Please pray for the Church and the Discernment Committee. Almighty and everliving God, ruler of all things in heaven and earth, hear our prayers for this parish family. Guide us in our discernment that with thankful hearts we may seek and call our next rector in accordance with your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Videos of the services are always available online if you aren't able
