Hurricane Helene Update

We held a Community Service on Thanksgiving Day. Volunteers and community members came as well as a few parishioners who could make the drive.  On Dec 22, we greened the church in anticipation of our Christmas Eve Service.  For many it was their first time to see the aftermath of Helene and to see the church being used as a response effort.

On Christmas Eve at 2 pm, community members, volunteers and parishioners gathered for our second service in the church.  Being in our home church was a blessing.  At 5 pm, many also attended the Christmas Eve service at St. Paul's in Edneyville, our church away from home.  We are hoping to be able to begin regular services in late February.  Meanwhile, we are gathering as a church family at St Paul's  along with their congregation on Sundays at 10 am.  Future services and gatherings will be on the calendar and announced as they are finalized.

On Thursdays, we are meeting either online or at Lake Lure Baptist Church for our Eucharist and Healing Service.  Please check our calendar  for when we meet.

If you wish to Join us for Noonday Prayer online on Thursdays at 11:30 (on the days we do not meet in person), please follow the link below.

Our church is truly bearing witness to the incredible dedication of those amazing volunteers who are working every day to help the families and businesses of the Gorge  and to return the area to the natural beauty (while different than before) of God’s creation.

We are excited that we are now able to offer some shelter and meals, as well as a place to store supplies, for those wonderful volunteers who are working tirelessly to restore roads and utilities to our community.  Many thanks to the Bat Cave Hurricane Response Team.

We are looking forward to when our doors are open wide to all for worship, meals, and yes - lots of grounds clean up! For all of this, we are grateful.
